Christmas Easel Bow Card Twas the Night Before Christmas

Hello my sweets, how are you?
I am so busy with so many things... But I had a chance to craft!!!!
Lately, if you can't tell, I am on the roll with that bow card.. Oh well, I can assure you it is not the last one that you will see.
Alright, this time I wanted to make an easel card... Good, love those!
But if you know me, I just cant make simple things, so easel bow card sounded very nice...
But that is not it.. easel bow card on top of the box - that sounds alright, complex enough, so yep, done decided - Christmas Easel Bow Card on the box

Inspiration came from new Graphic 45 Christmas collection Twas the Night Before Christmas. Love it!
Here how it looks from all sides

Cute ha!
Lets take a closer look
It is easier to start from the back/base. I had this octagon shape box laying around, so I decided it was time for it... How cute it would be to have a little sweet something hidden inside the card...
So for the base I used that box and a card just simply went on top of it.. As you see above I covered the bottom of the box with paper and left few sides of the box as they were, but one side had a printed name of candies, so I needed to cover it, which was very simple to do using some images from the paper stack..

Just covered whole side with scraps and added cut out of two stamps using 3D pop dots.
On the fold of the card I used
Sizzix - Tim Holtz - Alterations Collection - On the Edge Die - Snow Flurries
that gave this card nice reach top...
The easel part of this card was done the most simple way - right across along the half of it - SCORE!
You can see how I created that crease. So I adhered bow tails only on lowest part of that element. But before using adhesive I took one of the G45 envelope/tag die cuts and placed it behind the bow tail layer and in between that red Christmas layer of the card. After finding correct spot for it I used my 3D pop dots to create a pocket for a tag and only after that I secured everything with adhesive.
The top part of bow tails layer was decorated with a paper die cuts snowflakes, for more interest.
Lets turn this card around and take a look on it from up front.
here some close up for you on how that tag pops out on top. May I mention while we are here the green bow layer was decorated with beautiful cotton trim (new arrival at NSK).
Zooming out...

Wow ha! Allot to take in for unprepared eye. No worries I will show you around!

Lets start from the back, which is that red plaid print. It is on of the bow tails that was decorated with paper snowflakes on top (remember?!). The secret to this card is - LAYERS.
What I did - basically.. I cut out a bunch of different swirl, snowflake sprays and borders out of paper (use what you have, don't forget punches and border cutters and figure scissors) using as normal layer of wax paper while die cutting those, which under normal circumstances would be thrown away, but not this time...  I used it all.
After securing first layer, which was a bow tail, I adhered on both sides of it bunches of my die cuts. Then I used my pop up dots and adhered second layer/green larger bow. And mayo again, think about it as you are making sandwich.. So mayo/bunches of paper & wax paper die cuts. And third layer/small bow that already was altered on the edges with cotton trim.
I think you got the process down?!
Lets take a look on the front of this card again..
The icing on the top is a window frame with Santa's image inside, which is decorated with beautiful brooch and some tags from G45 collection.
Inside I capt this card very simple
Just a paper die cut and a lace with another tag from the collection..
In all it was very fun project!
Hope you like it and enjoyed this time spent with me....
Have a good day!

Cracked Wall Effect - Tutorial

Hello everyone...
I absolutely forgot to post the tutorial on process of creating cracked wall effect that I used while working on Phantom Haunted House - Explosion Box

I was trying to create effect of Which smashed into the wall and vaporized...
Of course leaving behind her shoes
and a hat on the other side of the house...
and only hole in between...
But the main point of this idea was to create a cracked wall - after shock on the wall of the Haunted House... And it took some work to achieve it.
I used modeling paste and sprays to to get a texture on the front of the house..
but the major task was on the upper level - roof...
 with treasures in the attic...
To see how I achieved desired look of cracked wall, please watch a video tutorial.
If you have any questions just leave a comment below and I will try get back to you as soon as possible.
Have a wonderful day!

Shabby Bow Birthday Card

Have you ever seen a bow card? I wonder who came up with this idea?
The first time I saw it on YT in some once video - I was amazed how 3D and beautiful this project was... But time passed and I got side tracked and forgot about it...
Just resonantly Amador made Tilda Bow card and posted pictures of it on FB.. Beautiful project trigger my seance bids again.. I asked for tutorial, because I truly would love to create one..
Well the only thing I ran into dilemma of  competition (copyrights) that Amador was battling.
I guess ideas also can be copyrighted and it doesn't meter how you got to the final result.. which I think is kind of wrong..
Make the story short I wound out with two templates on the same project and the third is still in my head...Ha-ha!
Now let me introduce you a final (slightly twicked) Bow Card that I made as a Birthday gift  for my good friend Aarti.
Oh boy, isn't she gorgeous? Of course I should say something about talents of the person who put it together... Ha-ha-ha! No seriously, that might be the part of it too...
Alright, let me walk you through...
I used Luisa Diaz's (owner of  KittysScrapPost) new collection "Tea With Teddy" digital collection for the papers and new laces from NSK that will be listed for the month of November 2014.
The template that I choose to work with was the one that I purchased and I used just few of those elements, because of how reach those papers are and how much those laces filling up the space on the card.

Alright, lets start with the base.. Surprise there the base was a hexagon shape, which is very unusual

you see the view of the back of the card... with pulled out tags..
And here is the view of inside..
I used one of the half page papers and folded it in half and just cut out the shape..
here I pulled out all tags so you can see the inside of the card better..
And a closer shot on the pocket/border that I created using Magnolia die, but it can be any border punch.. Look how those Teddies are cute!.. Love them.

Alright moving on..
Card has hm about three layers  in it with out counting the base and embellishments:
- tails of the bow (you can see those from the back better - refer to  the 3rd &4th pictures above)

You can see it and a little green triangle picking out on the back behind the laces... Exactly!! that much of those you see in the project.. ha - you got to be kidding me right?! Oh well..

- first and larger layer of folded papers into the bow in blue

of course all layers been inked with distressed inks and distressed on the edge using TH distress tool.
I created a pocket between two layers and tucked in some tags with BD messages...
On this picture you can see that there is something white comes through between blue and pink - you are right it is a hand die cut paper doily.
- second layer of the smaller bows which makes it last out of three layers that I mentioned

And lucky for us I can show you closer that music lace a that I gathered and attached under bow tails layer and a nice skirt.
Lets look into few decorative elements of this card

On the top you can see some lace picking out and two paper strings.. It is actually one of the laces that was tucked in and to hold it up I placed die cut of music notes that was adhered on the back of the card. Next element that you see is a blue butterfly and red flower - those are a die cut piece of the border die which I cut into several pieces and tucked through whole card here and there. I used scraps of the blue paper (large bow). After the blue bow layer you can see part of the paper doily and then another border die piece only in green (it is one of the Magnolia dies). Next is the pink bow layer and another paper doily topped with Tu-Tu flower.
wow those are some layers ha!!!
You think I am done? No way!
Here is the bottom view of the card

Starting from the bottom up: music note lace, blue bow layer, paper doily, green border piece, pink bow layer...stop we hit secret element there.. Out of all lace you can only see dangling circles, but there is about an 1 inch wide lace in there.. ok and next layer of paper doily with Tu-Tu flower and you see bits of butterfly border die cut and a piece of lace, by the way the same lace that I used on the very top of the card, just flipped up side down.
Lets take a look at the center piece...
Here you can see on the top of pink bow layer: paper doily (which by the way for more transparency I cut out the middle of and used only the circle border of the doily), Tu-Tu flower and here is that snippet of the beautiful lace which is topped with one of the beautiful wooden buttons from NSK. And you can see how I used die cut border of butterflies, placing those randomly through the project.

Last element is or are tags that I was using as a place mat for messages and as decoration.
those were tucked in in pairs on both sides of the card under blue bow layer

and inside the card.
There is a meaning to each tag. They all are different and all have different laces which represents 6 people who are involved in secret event, These 6 people are different but we are all sending our birthday wishes to a recipient. I was thinking that it was a nice touch.
Alright.. I think I am done with all details of this project. Here is final picture and a video..
Thank you very much for visiting my blog, commenting or not..
Lots of love and have a great day!

Thrifting with Luisa Diaz

Hello everyone!
Today was a fun day for a change..
My friend and one of NSK designers, Luisa Diaz invited me for a lunch during her visit to the parents house.
We were looking forward to that one keeping in mind that every one(me, I am talking about me of course)is very busy. So Luisa took that matter in her hands and after thoroughll checking she decided that we are going to one Chicken grill House, that is close by... Done, done and done!
Couple tweaks to our planes.. and we stopped by Thrift shop.. Yey!
1. We found few goodies.
2. I mat Luisa's family!
3. I spent only $22.59
4. We shared..
Amazingly efficient! To see our finds you have to watch the vid below..
Let me tell you what happend when we went to eat..
1. Luisa got stuck on the parking lot of the Thrift shop. There was a truck that pulled into plaza.. the rest was the history.. so she was a bit late for a lunch and I drove first..
2. While I was waiting on Luisa to arrive I nowthis something strange on the door of the dining..
Check it out

Ha, ha, ha! After all this time of planing! You got to be kidding me!
3. While that was taking place, Luisa passed plaza and got lost.. But luckily for us the was a Little Caesars pizza place right next to that one.. So we decided it will be fine.. But it wasn't as you would assume.
4. There was no sitting area at Little Caesars.. That was our lucky day after all..
I suggested Sarbucks and finally we went there (do not forget that there would be one ass on the road that paddling along the road with the speed of 20 ml/h in a zone of 35 ml/h. And with two cars travelling together passing maneuver wouldn't work.
But we made it!

Guess what guy made for me double doze of coffee.. Oh well I can take it at any day!
After all I had wonderful time and came back hope happy as a puppy with  lots of goods and great memories that share with you!.
