Art Name Sign/Altered Spool

Hello my friends!
I would like to share with you Art Name Sign/Altered Spool project...
I consider it almost mixed media, because of complexity and innovation of such type of project... Hey, don't shoot - I am just the messenger - not a pro at all!!!! And probably mistaken with characteristics... Oh well...
My dear friend Janet introduced me to such art and since then I am slowly developing love to it...
I tried making one Pink Sharpie name sign and I absolutely loving it!
Pinteres is one of the places where you can stumble across such art, and I did.... which led me to this project and I hope many more to come...
I recorded the process of my thinking and putting it all together, so it will be the best way to explain how and what....
Mean while I would like to share few pictures of this creation....
Enjoy!

Pocket Letter & Embellishments

Hello my friends..
I would like to share with you another pocket letter that I made as a gift for my sweet friend Luisa
Unfortunately I didn't have standard file with 9 pockets as Luisa requested (because of storage - she binds those in the 3 wring binder), but I found a 6 pocket file from Project life and for extra layer on of the files of coupon book from a Dollar store...
So I took a wooden stick Dollar Tree foam heart embellishment and used it as a bookbinder (see the video), which I wrapped with fuzzies and decorated top with a dollar tree rose

The 1st layer of clear file pockets  have an printed cupcake with heart toothpick deor, secured with altered paper clip
 Next row two pockets are:
- love - sealed felt decor as a shaker box
- hello gold die cut word...
Third and last row: both pockets are sealed into shaker boxes, but on top I added a decor altered wire frame and a handmade rosette as a tab for easier flip of 1st layer of pocket letter...

Second layer is simple as well, but much more solid of fillers, because it serves as a background to the 1st "sea through layer"
I needed to use much more solid fillers in these pockets, as those are creating a background for the 1st layer of the pocket letter...

So here you see I used just a paper doily and a gold butterfly die cut - very simple, but functional
And in the next pocket, I folded a scrap of paper onto itself in order to create a pocket and put some goodies inside, but not to take away from the simple background idea...
Remember tab has adhesive on it, but I didn't pill it off, because I want recipient to use items - so I just simply clipped it on to the page....
By adding floating elements on inside of the pocket and outside - creates even more movement and dimension into your project - but still keeps it very user friendly
This pocket I filled with folded paper doily (again... I want it to be used), gold die cut and pleated handmade heart (follow the link to see a tutorial)
Back MUST to be decorated (it's one of those musts that I pay attention to): flat embellishments like stickers, paper die cuts - will do the trick....
So in all this Pocket Letter came out absolutely darling!!!!!
I had to make few extra embellishments, so I did.........
Layered rosette and altered bottle cap, turned into clip on charm - are always great idea
Altered resin picture frame is one of the classic mini decorations - you can't go wrong with that one. I used felt hearts as a background and secured it on top of the frame... layer of lace, fuzzy yarn and few acrylic embellishments finished it all nicely....
Altered foam heart with tiny birdy, few roses and scrabble word love is fun and easy to make
Here are few more pictured of both projects together.....

Packaging is another MUST - what ever you can come up with.....

I hope you enjoyed these projects and got few ideas and some inspiration...
Tight hugs and I'll catch ya next time.........
