Vintage Metal Heart & a Bow Card

Hello my friends, today I am sharing with you my project: Vintage Metal Heart & a Bow Card that I created as a Birthday gift for Karen using Prima Almanac paper collection
I found that metal heart on sale at Michaels and picked it up for Karen's future gift.
Do you ever finding yourself "shopping for other people", I do it all the time.. That's why I am trying to stay away from stores, I am very compulsive shopper.
But back to the project...
Karen's style is very special, she makes amazing beauties and I wanted to match that beauty in some way.
It is hard to create in some else's style... I printed out several pictures of her creations and kept it in front of me in all times in order to balance my work. I picked up similar items that karen crafting with, even the papers.
After dry layout of papers and embellishments I started to glue it all down. I used variety glues: Mod -Podge, Glossy Accents, E6000 and hot glue. It's all very important in order your creation to last.
After adhering base (background layer) I started adding and securing layers: paper cut outs, metal filigree, flower stems, lace. Then I added modeling past in different spots for more dimension using Prima stencil.
For the most part it is layering technique and dry fitting is the way to go...

 And what is a Birthday gift without a card. My favorite style of the card is a bow card. So I created a very simple layered bow card using the same paper line.

Christmas in July - Tilda Fabric Bow Card

Hello my friends!
Today I am coming to you with the next "Christmas in July" project. And it is a crazy quilt Tilda fabric bow card. How about that?!
Absolutely LOVE this one. It was a long journey, but it is worth each second of it.
I started to work on it in January on one of the crops, but then my life took one of those "spin your head around" few months, so I just got around to finish it...
Do you ever have a moment when project just isn't going? That's what it was for me this time...
But the base was done on the crop and just front part was questionable. Too many ideas at the same time and finally I found it...

 for the front part I took one of the plastic mini frames and created inside crazy quilt panel using gold fabric piece and some paper die cuts from Tilda collection. I distress white picture frame with inkagold and topped it with image of Tilda doll. I cut metal filigree into three pieces: two corners were placed under frame symmetrically and  center part was mounted in top left corner with flat back pearl in the center and dangle glass piece creating elegant moving flower.

 Under center piece I tusked feathers, because I was using those in other projects from "Christmas in July" series.

The first/smaller layer of the bow card (as each layer) was created separately first. I cut out a base of bow shape out of felt and stitched/sewn on scraps of all sorts of scraps, yarn and trims finishing it with elegant Venice laces, tulle, gold appliques and bling. Tip: the is no right and wrong way of doing crazy quilt!

 As I said second layer was created very much the same way as first one.

 And paper wings were just simply pinned to the card, because as a deal was all projects were suppose to have wings...

 This is the back of the card and you can see few layers of Venice laces sticking out on top.

 To make card sturdy I cut out a chipboard pieces, added layers of felt and sewed fabric around those. Now card can be displayed.

that's how it looks inside. Just love that fabric.

Frozen Bow Card - VR Ryanna's Birthday Card Challenge

Hello my dear friends.
Just very briefly, because its late and my right hand is very hurt, so I can't type allot.
I created a Frozen Gift set for little girl's Birthday.

Ryanna will turn 5 this year and her grand mom decided to host a challenge on YT. She asked us to make a card for her granddaughter. Of course she mentioned that Ryanna LOVEs Frozen
So here we go I made her a 3D Frozen Bow Card

And if you know me I can't just do one thing
I made for her a little girly purse and coloring book

Twas the Night Before Christmas Bow Card in the Box

Hello my crafty friends!
Happy Holidays to you and your families!
I made this Easel Bow card almost the same way as I made one for my mom a while ago. But for this one I just added a few extra touches and I think it came out so adorable!!!!

Lets take a closer look...

I cut out a holly leaf banner and few images out of G45 Twas the Night Before Christmas paper collection and tuck those here and there around the window die cut. I used Flower Soft to create a snow effect all the way around the window. As well as I high lighted berries with glittered glue.

Lets take a 360 look of this card...

This Easel card stands up, so you have to make the back side look beautiful as well, just in case recipient will decide to display it. So I created a secret pocket with tag and message inside...

You can see that card stands on top of the box. I traced the template of that box from one of the old candy boxes, cut it out it from G45 paper line and put together as shown on these pictures...

So now lets take a look on details and layers of this card...

I used floral and winter die cuts to create swirls in between bow layers. Edge of the bows was decorated with trims and laces from NSK.

On the inside card looks much simpler

 But because card needs to stand up I had to put swirly die cut reinforced with bow lace and a wooden puppy embellishment that will create a stopper or border.

And we can finish conversation about this card with candies, right?!..

But..
Ha there is always but with me...
This card was suppose to travel far over seas, so I created a box for it.
For the base I took one of the finish Nestle Ice Cream boxes and covered it with papers, of course distressing the edges and stuff....

Before I adhered the papers I covered all corners of this box with candy striped washy tape from my stash. So if paper will not cover all openings   it will look nicely any way.
On the edges you can see I used postcards from this collection all the way around the box adhering those with pop up dots.  That was the front..
Now side view...

and the back side looks like that..

So now lets get to the top of this box...

Basically it looks like this..

The main image I choose a page with Santa..

I glossy accented and soft flowered few elements of his adorable outfit including few gifts in his bag.

As for the corners I used post stamps from the same paper collection that were distressed and mounted on the 3D pop dots on all 4 corners of this box. 

And above Santa I put a banner on the twine using pop dots as well....

Here few decorative elements that I used...

cut outs, glossy accents and glitter glue...

So box came out very cute and pretty fast, because of variety of decorative images that comes in each G45 paper collection.

So what a wonderful and personal gift you can make for your friends and family just using this paper collection and few laces from you stash!!!
